6. The Dog...?

When is a dog not a dog? When it's a genetically engineered maverick. But when has anything ever been straightforward in Lower Decks?

Much Ado About Boimler begins with Tendi introducing her pals to her new dog. Or rather, a dog she's created because...well, because she can. The only trouble is, Tendi doesn't have a clue what a human dog is like, to the point that she simply names her The Dog. And it soon becomes apparent that this dog is anything but normal. Even by Lower Decks standards.

The Dog's set of tricks makes rolling over look like amateur dramatics. Spider-climbing the walls like something out of The Exorcist...transforming into a cube and clunking along the deck...eyes turning into bats and flying out of her mouth...yeah, totally normal dog behaviour.

Honestly, the Cerritos seems like the perfect place for such a special doggo, but she's eventually sent to The Farm, a specialist spa for medical mysteries. Although considering she can speak, it's a wonder she wasn't more worried about being sent to 'the farm', given what that usually means for a dog.

Still, she has a happy ending, flying off into the sunset. Literally. And no matter her quirks, she's still a very good dog.
