10 Insane Doctor Who Episodes That Went Unmade

10. The First Doctor Vs Teleporting Nazis

Even before Matt Smith's €œLet's Kill Hitler€ jaunt (which sadly didn't live up to the early promise of its title), Doctor Who attracted a surprising amount of Nazi-themed scripts. In 1966 Brian Hayles literally wrote one just called €œThe Nazis€, which ended up being rejected for the prosaic but understandable reason of hitting too close to home. Far more thrilling was the proposed Patrick Troughton serial €œOperation Werewolf€, where the Second Doctor arrived at D-Day just in time to stop the Nazis from using teleporation technology to interrupt the Normandy landings. As if the real-life story wasn't weird enough, right? Only one script was written, with other episode titles including €œChateau Of Death€ and €œLair Of The Werewolf€, suggesting The Doctor would come up against some Grindhouse-type villains along the way. Who wouldn't want to see The Doctor, Jamie and Victoria trying to shut down a Third Reich fourth-dimensional transportation machine, eh?
