10 Moments From The Grand Tour We All Loved

10. A New Attempt At Amphibious Cars

Clarkson, Hammond and May have never shied away from the water as it's usually where some of the show's biggest laughs come from. The trio first attempted to create three amphibious cars way back in 2006, which resulted in Hammond's "Damper Van" sinking quicker than the Titanic, Clarkson rolling his "Toybota" in the last corner, and James almost making it onto land in his Triumph Herald.

The guys gave it a second attempt the next year with all three of them sticking with their original designs. Hammond's new and improved "Damper Van" ended up picking up May after his Triumph Herald sank before it even left the harbour, only sink itself moments later. The episode ended with all three presenters onboard Clarkson's "Toybota" and heading from Dover to France. The two episodes were fan favourites so when they moved over to Amazon for The Grand Tour, it seemed only right to give it a third attempt.

In the Series 2 episode, Clarkson, Hammond and May attempt to break the British water speed record by attaching a jet engine from a plane to the back of a modified Suzuki Jimny. It results in some standout moments as Jeremy attempts to break the record on his own.
