Given how much Game of Thrones was debated by fans during the course of its run, the revelation that Jon Snow was in fact the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen did not have the punch it should have done.

Nevertheless, it’s important to bear in mind that Lyanna’s death scene answered arguably the most fascinating question in the whole show.

In addition to a great performance from ‎Aisling Franciosi, the music from Ramin Djawadi was perfect, and the transition from Lyanna’s infant baby to Jon Snow was a simple yet beautiful piece of editing.

It’s a shame that such a moment was spoiled somewhat due to online speculation, because this crucial death scene was executed flawlessly.
