10 Most Underrated Performances In Game Of Thrones

3. Diana Rigg - Olenna Tyrell

Olenna Tyrell was the only character in Game of Thrones who could compete with Tywin Lannister in regard to her constant aura of superiority.

In contrast to many of her peers, Olenna was not fond of formalities or etiquette, and though she was evidently loyal to House Tyrell, she didn’t hold back when it came to throwing shade at her own family members, including her own son and grandson.

Granted, Olenna didn’t go on much of an arc, but the beauty of Rigg’s performance was that she always made her character the dominate figure in every scene she was in even though she wasn’t a physical threat.

Olenna also had an outstanding death scene. Despite the fact that her house lay in tatters after the finale of Season 6, Olenna got the last laugh by revealing to Jamie that it had been she who had murdered Joffrey. Rigg’s cold delivery throughout this monologue was a great way for her character to bow out.
