Another person looking to follow up the extraordinary success of Sons of Anarchy is Kurt Sutter, the man who created the show. While it would've been understandable for him to take a bit of a break, he's diving straight back into the world of TV with The Bastard Executioner, which will again be broadcast on FX. It's going to be set in the 14th century, and will follow a knight in the army of King Edward III who is compelled to lay down his sword after being completely broken down by the horrors and brutality of war. However, violence soon finds him again, and he is forced to pick up an even bloodier sword: that of an executioner. Lee Jones will play the titular Bastard, while Sutter's wife Katey Sagal and True Blood's Stephen Moyer are also among the main cast. It has a lot of the same crew from Sons of Anarchy, so fans of that show in particular should be excited, for what promises to be a very intriguing and bloody historical epic. The 10-episode run kicks off with a two-hour premiere on September 15.
