10 Once Great TV Shows That Became Laughing Stocks

7. Arrow

Once upon a time, Arrow was rightfully considered the cream of the superhero TV crop. An admirably grounded take on the usually vibrant DC Comics hero, it was a Green Arrow story for a new generation and it quickly found its footing in a post-Dark Knight world.

But after two absolutely phenomenal seasons, the tide began to turn for dear old Oliver Queen as the show began to loose that footing just as quickly as it had found it. The continued departures from the comics (and the endless supply of watered-down Batman material), the mind-numbing melodrama between Oliver and Felicity (that somehow killed the once-great chemistry between Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards) and the introduction of magic and mysticism squandered everything that ever made Arrow so great.

From the toxicity of Olicity to the ridiculous decision to kill off Black Canary, the fourth season's daytime soapiness permanently killed the show's lustre. And in spite of the fact that its final season did return it to its former glory, it was never looked at with the same affection or respect from the fans it ultimately betrayed.
