Its clear that this man works less for the ministry of defence and more for the ministry of silly walks. After a Sarah Jane moment involving her almost falling off a cliff (which is just about as dignified as her falling off a grass verge in The Five Doctors), this guy follows in hot pursuit. In fact, it's difficult to decide who overacts more, Sarah Jane as she screams for her life or this guy as he spasms like somebodys shoved the contents of a freezer down the back of his top. The Doctor calls at him to stop but he seems desperate to swat all the invisible flies off himself. Its perfectly out of place in the dark and brooding Hinchcliffe era with its lovecraftian horrors and a perfectly stupid way for the writer of the Nazi-ridden Genesis of the Daleks to start his next script.
