10. Danny Pink: Pro Gymnast

Clara Oswald's character got an interesting new wrinkle in Series 8 with her new love interest, former soldier Danny Pink.

Danny basically ended up as the third wheel in the Doctor and Clara's friendship, and was opposed to their time-travelling exploits.

He also turned into a Cyberman, but that's a story for another list.

One of the only times Danny did get in on the action was in The Caretaker, where a murderous robot named the Skovox Blitzer turned up at Coal Hill School. The Doctor, posing as the janitor, has to take it down, but he needs a little help from Danny, who inexplicably pulls off this insane Olympic-level front flip during the final battle.

Where the hell did he learn to do that?!

Danny used to be a soldier of course, but it's not like they teach acrobatics in the army. Also, where was this ability when he was run down by a car? Couldn't he have just flipped over it like Spider-Man?

"Spider-Dan, Spider-Dan, does whatever a Spider-Dan does..." okay we'll stop.

Danny's impressive gymnastics were never seen of again, making this moment stick out as highly unusual in retrospect.
