The X-Files Revival: 10 Things We Learned From 'Founder's Mutation'

5. Skinner's Office Is Where The Real Magic Always Happened

Okay, so that may be a bit of a stretch. However, Founder's Mutation had a great exchange between Mulder, Scully, Skinner, and an unnamed Department of Defense agent that reminded us of just how great the dialogue in these sorts of scenes can be. From Mulder answering a veiled threat to make life difficult for him by the D.O.D. agent with "I'm aware of Edward Snowden" to Skinner immediately assuming Mulder has, in fact, copied classified government files - and letting it slide - this scene was classic X-Files. Even better, Skinner's being set up to be a little more proactive in his role as the overseer of The X-Files, something we started to see in the later seasons of the original show, but that wasn't fully developed. This time around, he seems better suited to it. Maybe it's the beard.
