6. Mr Robot
Mr Robot was one of the most pleasant TV surprises of 2015. Hollywood doesn't have the strongest track record in tackling hacking, Rami Malek was largely unknown, and Christian Slater an actor of a bygone age, and yet Sam Esmail packaged them all together to craft one of the most intelligent, thought-provoking, and visually delightful series of the year.

The second season got a little more bogged down in trying to deliver all manner of twists and turns as we went deeper in Elliot's state-of-mind, but it remained a clever, ambitious series with enough to keep you gripped - Malek's performance is reason enough to watch - and Season 3 is nicely poised to continue the story.
