Then again, that would bring about its own issues. Like, obviously it would have to be smaller scale than the new movies, and no way would any of the big-name actors agree to appear on the TV. Have you seen how much they struggle to get the Marvel people into Agents Of SHIELD? The only character from Thor they could get was Sif. Not even Kat Dennings could be bothered. Which means they'd have to tell side-stories, or sequels, and therefore paint themselves into a corner. They might not be able to do things with the films thanks to things that have happened in the show, and vice versa. And the OG fans would probably kick up a fuss. They'd kick up a fuss if they carried on from where Star Trek Voyager left off, too, but possibly less of a fuss. Plus, then Paramount would have both the old and new guard in their pocket, a couple of rather solvent revenue streams. Ahem, but obviously it's not all about the money. Well, it is for Paramount, but for fans continuing on from Voyager would be pretty cool. The last new story told in the original timeline was Nemesis, with Enterprise being a prequel. Finally getting to return to the world they all fell in love with the first time, and getting new stories told with that world that aren't novels written by Shatner? That's pretty much the dream.
