10 Worst Doctor Who Episodes Of All Time
10. Love and Monsters
The most interesting entry on this list, as even those who disliked this episode generally agreed that the concept wasn't too bad. The episode was part of David Tennant's debut season, with his chemistry with Billie Piper as fan favourite Rose making the season arguably the best ever.
Love and Monsters was the first 'Doctor-lite' episode of the modern series, brought about due to the strenuous shooting schedule that was a contributor to Christopher Ecclestone's departure from the role. Tennant and Piper only appeared in the episode for seven minutes, with the episode instead concentrating on a man named Elton and his pursuit of the Doctor.
The concept starts well enough, but quickly goes off the rails. The docu-drama style and forced jokes prove to be a drain, although a budding relationship between Elton and Jackie Tyler has some real heart.
Then an alien arrives who sucks people on to his backside and the episode goes all down hill from there. The story reverts to silly butt references and inappropriate oral sex jokes, with a lame defeat of a villain who's name seems to be invented by the Doctor. Even the late arrival of The Doctor and Rose can’t save this car crash, with the villain resembling an alien version of Fat Bastard killing any possible investment the viewer may have.
