The announcement that Doctor Who was heading Stateside to film scenes in and around the Big Apple was always going to create a stir amongst the show's legion of American fans but nobody could've quite anticipated the level of attention that their arrival ignited. Here's Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill arriving on location in Central Park to shoot scenes for Series 7 (beats a Cardiff quarry any day of the week!) and the picture depicts the TARDIS trio being hotly pursued by a fevered crowd of excitable fans. At this point they were probably used to it. Hundreds turned up to watch them film scenes for The Angels Take Manhattan which was to be the Ponds' final adventure with the Doctor. It's somewhat fitting, then, that it's as heavily documented as it is, in both the UK and international press. Even Matt and Arthur took the time to take some snaps on their respective cameras.
