10. My So-Called Life

My So-Called Life had its own so-called life cut extremely short in the mid-90s, when it was cancelled after just one 19 episode season.

It followed the travails of teenager Angela - played by Clare Danes - as she attempted to deal with all the drama and adventure that high-school brings, from clashing with her mother and having a crush on Jared Leto€™s Jordan, to themes of homophobia and teen alcoholism and drug abuse.

It received huge critical acclaim for what was perceived to be an extremely accurate portrayal of teenage life, but that wasn€™t enough to save the show, especially when it was revealed that Danes wasn€™t keen on committing to another season.
