3. Calvin Zabo

The addition of Kyle MacLachlan to the show's second season turned out to be a stroke of genius. As Skye/Daisy's tortured father Calvin Johnson, MacLachlan elevated a character who could've been one-note into one of the most fascinating and engaging ones the show has put forth yet.

Despite his outward villainy and antagonism, what made Cal work so well was the innate earnestness and desire to reunite his family that gave his character heart even in his fits of rage. Though his emotions were being manipulated by Jiaying for her own purposes, Cal spent the second half of the season proving he was a good man at heart, making the ultimate sacrifice to dissolve the very family he had spent so long trying to piece back together in order to keep his daughter from being the one to kill her own mother.

Unlike most of the MCU's villains, who end up dead or imprisoned, Cal received a bittersweet ending, with the TAHITI program being used to wipe away his memories and give him a new life as a veterinarian, unshackled from all the tragedy put upon him.
