13. The Moon Is An Egg... And That's Somehow Supposed To Make Sense
Watching Doctor Who requires one to extend their disbelief. It's not much to ask, really, since it's a fantasy franchise taking place in a fictionalised narrative universe where anything can, and will, happen. Sometimes, though, even the ongoing liaisons of TV's favourite Time Lord can go too far. It's a rare occurrence, of course, but an irritating one nonetheless. Every now and then, an episode comes along which makes absolutely no relative sense, not even in the whimsical realms of the show's pre-established mythology. Such was the case last year when, in an episode aptly titled Kill the Moon, writer Peter Harness dropped an almighty bombshell by revealing that the Moon is actually... wait for it... an egg. Or the embryonic form of a gigantic, draconian creature, to be precise. Yep. That was too far.
