15 Times Rick And Morty Was The Best Show On Television
4. The Chair Dimension
The series really loves to just throw in these weird little bits into episodes that don't necessarily need to be there, not really serving much of a story purpose, but they end up being the funniest parts of the series.
In this incredible bit, Rick and Morty are being chased through dimensions, and the show gets to further explore all the crazy different realities that exist, suggesting that basically any version of the world is out there somewhere. First there's a world where pizzas order people to eat. Then there's a world where phones order chairs to eat while dialling people and sitting on pizzas. And then a world where chairs sit on people and order phones to eat while dialling pizzas.
Then while in the chair universe, Rick and Morty walk through this world that Harmon and Roiland have fully fleshed out and that just exists in the background, with homeless chairs and restaurants where chairs sit on people. They never voice how strange this all is; all the hilarious visuals are just in the background as the scene moves right along.
