If you're honest with yourself, Arya Stark's story is probably the one you find most interesting; her progression from a child dropped into an unimaginable pit of despair after witnessing her father's death who thinks the rest of her family are all dead into a mini-Hound with a kill list is the stuff fantasy books are made of. But originally, Arya wasn't going to be that character: she would have escaped the burning of Winterfell alongside Catelyn and Bran, and would never have gone through all of the character-building trials and tribulations that have iron-forged her into what she is destined to become. Was It A Good Change? Undoubtedly: Arya's relationships with Gendry and the Hound were both some of the best dynamics the book and show have offered, and her hatred in isolation has easily been one of the most fan-pleasing strands of the narrative. Rather wonderfully, it looks like it's going to get better too.
