20 Actors Who Have Appeared In Both Classic And New Doctor Who

3. Katy Manning

You'd be forgiven if you didn't realize that Jo Grant made an appearance in the post-2005 era, but it's true. In the fourth series of The Sarah Jane Adventures, however, Jo met up with Sarah Jane in The Death of the Doctor, which also marks the Eleventh Doctor's only appearance in the spin off. Though Manning revived Jo in many Big Finish audios, this was the only time since her original run with the Third Doctor that she has appeared onscreen. Additionally, Manning plays the extended universe audio and Doctor Who books character Iris Wyldthyme, a rebellious member of the Clockworks race, who are similar to the Time Lords and are in charge of minting order in the Multiverse. She is fond of only some of the Doctor's regenerations and at one point she even proposed to the Third Doctor after tracking him down in Venice. Her TARDIS? A double-decker known as the Celestial Omnibus, which is rather inconveniently smaller on the inside.
