14. Invincible (Season 4)
Four seasons in, and Invincible shows no signs of losing steam.
Following the previous season's devastating Invincible War, the series returns to a new world order, as new conflicts start to show themselves in increasingly violent ways. With added insight into the past of Omni-Man and his previous quest for control, the season offers some of the show's most dramatic storylines and twists to date.
It's worth noting that, this time around, some of Invincible's animation feels less assured than previous years, but this is a minor gripe given the power of the show's performances (especially from Steven Yeun and a conflicted J.K. Simmons) and the moral complexities of its characters' latest battle for survival.
Still a fresh and exciting addition to the superhero canon, Invincible is still refusing to pull any punches, and the results are as bloody, tragic, and often amusing as they've ever been. Long may it continue!
