8. Blink (Series 3, Episode 10 - 2007)

Steven Moffat€™s episodes under the Davies Years of Doctor Who tended to be entertaining one off stories. They never really played into the individual season arcs that they were contained in, but nevertheless they were fertile ground for Moff to sprout genuine fear out of everyday forces and plain old mystery. So why do so many of his episodes appear on this list? Because he was genius enough to revisit most of these concepts when he took over the show in 2010. The first of those concepts was the most infamous: The Weeping Angels. Here, Moffat takes the everyday fear of creepy statues and attaches supernatural mysticism to said fear. Throw in some clever jabs at DVD commentary, the perils of sending messages through Time, and even some awkward moments of romantic interest, and you have a signature example of Moffat€™s patented blend of story and characters. (Also, those Angels seriously WERE creepy. Though they€™re nothing compared to what they€™d turn into later on€
