Among the most memorable was the murderous Christmas tree from The Christmas Invasion – a rampaging, razor-branched nightmare ploughing through the walls of Jackie Tyler's flat as she cowered in a corner, delivering the immortal line:
"I'm going to get killed by a Christmas tree!"
