Despite the fact that the films title bears his name, Spock as we know him appears only briefly in the third feature film, The Search for Spock. We see him briefly during a replay of footage from the previous movie, and then as a boy rapidly ageing toward manhood, but it is only in the movies final moments that we see Leonard Nimoy in a new scene. Spock's mind, or katra, to use the Vulcan term, is once again joined with his body. It is a joyful, tear-inducing scene as the resurrected Spock is reunited with, struggles to remember, and finally recalls the name of his old friend, Jim.
