9. The Witcher
Although now better known for the epic video game series, Netflix's The Witcher will be looking closer to Andrzej Sapkowski's source material as the inspiration for their series, which will star Henry Cavill in the lead role as Geralt of Rivia.
Geralt is one of the last remaining witchers, and in true fantasy style is thrown into an adventure alongside a young princess and a powerful sorceress, the three of them having to navigate an increasingly dangerous world together.
Coming from showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (a former staff writer on The West Wing, who has also worked on Daredevil and The Defenders), there's a chance for The Witcher to be Netflix's version of the fantasy epic every studio wants in the wake of Game of Thrones' success, no matter how much fun people might make of Henry Cavill's wig.
