4. Doctor Who Disco Mix - Ron Grainer

Ever wondered what Doctor Who would have sounded like if it had been an American cop drama? Well, it would have probably been something like this. This was the first arrangement of the the Doctor Who theme tune created by Ron Grainer on his own. Grainer composed the original back in 1963 but it was the work of Delia Derbyshire and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop that made it the haunting, memorable classic that is know and loved today. On the album 'The Exciting Television Music of Ron Grainer' released in 1980, though, fans got to hear what Grainer would have done with the theme. Thank God Delia Derbyshire was around to put it right.
