5 Star Trek Actors Who Are NOT Returning For Picard Season 3
We will miss them, even if we are excited to see what the direction the series now takes!
Star Trek: Picard's second season has completed airing, and the fates of several of the main cast have now been answered. However, this being sci-fi, the fans immediately began buzzing with questions as to who would be returning for the third season, which has already wrapped filming.
Would Agnes Juratti be back, in her new Borg form? Will Seven stay on as captain of the Stargazer, with Raffi by her side? Now that Elnor has been returned to life by Q, can we expect to see him asking many more people - Choose To Live?
Scouring social media, interviews, and announcements, the list of actors returning for season three is a little thin on the ground. This, coupled with the news that almost every main character from Star Trek: The Next Generation is returning, indicates that the third season of Star Trek: Picard is going to be a horse of a different colour - something that is, depending on who one asks, a big risk to take, or the best thing that could have happened. In no particular order, here is the news as it stands.
6. Evan Evagora
Evan Evagora won our hearts in Star Trek: Picard's first season as the perpetually honest Elnor. This young Romulan had a close connection with Jean-Luc, was raised on Vashti, and trained in the art of absolute candor by the Quwot Milat. His first appearance in the second season showed him to have joined Starfleet - the first full-blooded Romulan to have done so.
Fans were shocked with his abrupt death in the third episode, as he had come to be such a large part of the show. Though he appeared in various cameos throughout the season, Elnor was certainly relegated to a secondary status this year. Q did resurrect the young man in the finale, but it seems that even this wasn't enough to guarantee his future with Star Trek.
Evagora announced on Instagram that, while it had been a hell of a ride, he would not be returning for the third season. This is a little surprising, as his character is alive and well by the second season's finale. This indicates that the third season is going to pivot away from the established story so far.
