Oh Grodd, you wonderful, cautionary tale against animal experimentation. See, Grodd was a poor, tortured lab animal, being used for a military experiment on mind control. And then the particle accelerator exploded and he became a meta-gorilla. An escaped meta-gorilla, to be precise. Having the Flash fight a CGI gorilla who can control his mind on a regular basis might seem like peak crazy for villains on this show but have faith - the CW haven't held back on the lunacy yet.
