We have all heard the adage, one mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist. However Deep Space nine asks the question: What make a terrorist a terrorist and a freedom fighter a freedom fighter? How does a group fighting for their homeland turn into a terrorist organization? Who is in charge of the definitions? Are the Maquis terrorist? Why, because they did not abide by the Cardassian-Federation treaty, a treaty they were not consulted on. How much should you give up to be a part of a wider organization? Should you give up the right to fight for your home so that the greater Federation may live?
