Arrow: 6 Ups And 5 Downs From The Season 4 Premiere 'Green Arrow'
3. Up - I Am The Green Arrow
Although based on the comic-book hero Green Arrow, we've never technically met that character. We had the kill-happy version of Oliver, the Hood, and then the no-killing-but-still-dark iteration, the Arrow. Now that he's dead, it's time for a new hero to rise in his place, and finally have things get a little more colourful.
He's got a new suit, designed for him by The Flash's Cisco, and it's much more in line with the comic version - especially the short sleeves - and means he takes on a new moniker as well, the Green Arrow.
It's a largely different version of the character, one who is far more lighthearted and should eventually be celebrated as a hero, although that old superhero issue of secret identities rears it's head again. Oliver Queen, one of the most famous and recognisable figures in Star City, is being broadcast on TV, with just a hood and an eye-mask protecting his identity. Come on people.
Ignoring that, though, it's a great direction to go in. The new costume looks excellent, and Stephen Amell once again pulls off having to change up his character and is clearly enjoying getting to be a little more fun with it. The lighter tone the producers promised, mixed in with some Darhkness, is already working really well.
