Whilst the early moments of Rip Hunter in front of the Time Masters Council was ever-so reminiscent of Rufus in Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure, it didnt take long for DCs Legends of Tomorrow to also evoke memories of Men in Black. When Hunter first turns up to meet his Legends in their natural habitats, he uses a flashing light-type weapon to incapacitate them, which felt just a little like the famous memory-wiping devices in the Men in Black films. At least for the Legends involved, Hunters weapon only renders them unconscious as oppose to erasing their memories. Still, none of this wouldve needed to happen if Vandal Savage lived by the age-old Bill & Ted adage of be excellent to each other.
