DC's Legends Of Tomorrow Season 1: 8 Ups And 5 Downs From 'Progeny'

8. Ups...

Per Degaton

One of the potential problems that DC’s Legends of Tomorrow faces centres on the show’s villains.

You’ve got an entire group of Legends, with the main MO of the day to track down and stop immortal uber-rogue Vandal Savage. The thing is, whilst that’s all well and good, it’s hard to present a suitable alternative villain to Savage whilst also trying to keep focus on the overarching mission.

What Progeny did brilliantly is how it introduced Per Degaton as a villain. Well, a villain-in-waiting.

In the comic realm, Degaton is a time-travelling rogue who primarily tangles with the JSA. Here, though, we were introduced to a 14-year-old version of Per. Making the decision to use this comic book villain in this way was a brilliant one, and it was certainly one of the plus points of this latest Legends offering.
