It's actually kind of shocking that Moffat, the king of grown-up fairy tales, didn't want to use the Land of Fiction once he became showrunner. Two, Zoe, and Jame ended up trapped in the Land of Fiction back in one of the first seasons, and the result is an amazingly creative and surreal story that stands out among all the Base Under Siege stories the Second Doctor is known for. Say what you will about Moffat, but that's the kind of story he does really well. It would have been great fun to see Eleven and Amy end up there, and it would have fit well with the overarching style of Series 5 or 6. It's difficult to tell yet whether or not the Land of Fiction would work well with the tone of Peter Capaldi's Doctor, but we'll just have to wait and see. It's unlikely that his Doctor will have the same sense of whimsy that Matt Smith did in the role, which might make a Land of Fiction story a bit harder to pull off.
