Doctor Who: 10 Great Actors Who Need To Play Villains

By Molly Tracy /

6. Helen Mirren (On Screen)

Now it€™s time to bring some ladies onto this list. Helen Mirren was, again, a very high contender to be the Doctor if the BBC decided to go for a woman. That being said, she has the international fame and following to bring new viewers to her episode. Unlike others €“ who would most likely be villains €“ I would like to see Helen Mirren as yet another rogue time agent. Jack can€™t be the only one, and with no sign of John Barrowman in the fiftieth, it seems like Jack won€™t be coming back any time soon. That means we need another person to bring about the vortex manipulator and the mischief that comes with it. She€™s known for playing characters that don€™t follow the rules, and that€™s exactly what I would want to see from her. Even though it wouldn€™t be a 'villain', she could certainly be an antagonist of an episode, where the Doctor and Clara try to put a handle on a time agent that doesn€™t have a knack for rules. She could even be against the Shadow Proclamation €“ would love to see that brought back as well €“ and has it in her head to make an effort to cause them as much trouble as possible. Trouble, of course, that the Doctor has to clean up.
