Doctor Who: 10 Ways They Could Screw Up The Peter Capaldi Era

By Chris Mueller /

1. Ignore The Canon

It's no secret that Steven Moffat likes to change things about the history of Doctor Who to serve the storyline of the show, but that should be kept to a minimum. Changing something established in his history works every so often in order to give the character a richer backstory, but it also angers some fans who have spent years learning about The Doctor, only to have something they knew to be true turn out to be unimportant. Science fiction fans are the most devoted fans out there. We study the history of our favorite characters and we discuss, debate and defend out favorite things about them. Remember when it was established that The Doctor was half human? What about his granddaughter, Susan Foreman? And Who could forget that he has broken his own rule about crossing his own timeline on numerous occasions? A show like this is bound to have some things that no longer work when it lasts this long, and therefore it's alright to change a minor detail so long as there is an explanation given, but everyone's favorite Timelord has a tendency to ignore his own warnings and do things he has established he should not be able to do. These are just some of the ways Peter Capaldi's era could be ruined. What are some other things you hope to see unchanged when the show returns this fall?
