Doctor Who: 10 Ways They Could Screw Up The Peter Capaldi Era

9. Rely On The Daleks Too Much

The most recognizable villain in the Doctor Who universe is the Dalek. Their history with The Doctor dates back decades and they are a go-to bad guy for any good Doctor Who adventure, but sometimes it feels like the writers rely too much on the rolling trash can with a strange voice and a plunger for an arm.Matt Smith's tenure may have featured more stories involving the Daleks than anyone since the first Doctor, but that is a trend that should not continue into Capaldi's run. One of the great pleasures of watching this show is seeing which old villains will pop back up and what kind of new monsters the writing team will churn out. They should not be taken away completely, but Steven Moffat should give them a rest and rely on some other mainstays like the Cybermen or The Silence.
