7. Never Bring Back Any Old Companions

Matt Smith's run as The Doctor was amazing for so many reasons, but one very frustrating thing about his years on the show was a lack of any previous companions. Steven Moffat almost seemed to go out of his way to exclude Captain Jack, Rose and Martha from the show. Why?There is a rich history of compelling companions that should be revisited, even for just a short time. Fan-favorites Donna Noble or Mickey Smith could be brought in for an episode to hang around with Clara and The Doctor, or he could even run into his daughter, who was played once by Georgia Moffett and then never seen or heard from again. Forging a new path is important for every actor who plays The Doctor, but forgetting the people who helped him get to where he is today doesn't help anyone.
