As to what's next...well there's always that uncertainty over what a new Doctor will bring...but with the revelations of 'The Name Of The Doctor-Day Of The Doctor-Time Of The Doctor trilogy, those changes look set to accelerate the show in a whole new direction. Before I conclude my retrospective, giving my thoughts on the Christmas Special and where Doctor Who might go next in 2014, here's a recap of everything I have covered so far: Doctor Who 50th Retrospective Part 1: New writers / producers, series 7b, Classic Doctor rumours, Matt Smith's departure announced and his replacement in Peter Capaldi, the many, many rumours as to who might join the Tardis as the 12th Doctor, the recovery of missing episodes, the resurgence of Patrick Troughton's 2nd Doctor and all the celebrations across the globe... Doctor Who 50th Retrospective Part 2: The long-awaited return of Paul McGann in Night Of The Doctor, the 50th anniversary trailers, more missing episode rumours and the first BBC special; Science Of The Doctor. Doctor Who 50th Retrospective Part 3: My review of all the anniversary specials; Big Finish's The Light At The End, Mark Gatiss's beautiful dramatisation of the creation of Doctor Who in An Adventure In Space And Time, and of course The Day Of The Doctor itself, complete with my thoughts on seeing it at the cinema in 3D.
