Now that were out of serious spoiler territory, well start with one that weve all known for months now. Everyones favourite interspecies katana-wielding crime-solving couple and their psychotic potato dwarf are back. Vastra, Jenny, and Strax will appear in the first episode in the increasingly familiar setting of Victorian London to help the new Doctor through his Regeneration and (judging by the trailer) deal with the not so small matter of a dinosaur stomping through the streets. The gang have also had an equipment upgrade since their last adventure, with each character now armed with their own sonic device designed by viewers of Blue Peter. Jenny has a glove that can unlock doors and has a built-in scanner. Vastra has a hat pin that can turn into a sword and summon her carriage. And Strax has a set of lorgnettes that function as a medical scanner. Which is surprisingly less death-y than youd expect from him.
