1. Lucie Miller
With the revival of the show giving us a less posh and more down to Earth companion, Big Finish followed suit, replacing Edwardian lady Charlotte Pollard with the very different Blackpool lass that was Lucie Miller. On paper, Lucie could have been a gobby cliché but luckily the brilliant Sheridan Smith was cast and a Doctor Who legend was born. Initially a reluctant travelling companion, given to the Doctor to protect by the Time Lords, the pair could barely get along. Lucie was certainly not the adoring Charley Pollard but, as time went on, the pair became fast friends. The similarities to Rose Tyler seemed marked when she was introduced but Lucie never became infatuated with the Doctor and could generally give as good as she got. Whether facing Daleks, Zygons, giant Spiders or Glam rockers, Lucie remained unfazed and always had a withering putdown ready, for them or the Doctor. Alas, all good things must come to an end but Big Finish made sure they gave Lucie an explosive farewell in a two part extravaganza. Of all the Doctor's companions, few have had such immortal last words as our Lucie. Greatly missed.
What did you thin of this? Are there any other original Big Finish companions that should've been included? C'rizz? Amy the Tracer? Or maybe Mary Shelley? Join the conversation in the comments section below...
