7. Go Ahead And Be Evil, You Can Always Make Amends Later
In Time Heist, Mrs Delphox is shown to be guilty of any number of horrible and unconscionable actions (although, one assumes, not more so than the average senior banking manager). She blackmails the Teller into being her own personal brain-melting security system, imprisons Mrs Teller in order to do so, vaporizes (for all she knows) intruders into her bank and liquifies the brains of anyone who's feeling a bit secretive at that moment. While she does get some minor credit for being the first person in the universe to successfully commit suicide several times over, the fact remains that she is a woman who has done some very bad things indeed. However, all of this is apparently forgiven when fans discover that it was her who contacted the Doctor to come and set the Teller free in the first place. We see Mrs D, presumably on her deathbed, setting the wheels of the whole scheme in motion to free the Teller and make amends for being such a meanie, and all is totally forgiven because she feels super bad about the whole thing. The takeaway? Do whatever you want. Melt brains. Kidnap useful people's significant others. Whatever. As long as you make sure you take a minute before you die to convey how super bad you feel about the whole thing, you are completely covered. Promise.
