Capaldi is the oldest actor we've had in New Who. Eccleston was in his early forties when he took on the role, but Capaldi is in his mid-50s. Well, exactly his mid-50s. He's 55 - the same age William Hartnell was when he took on the role. Will we see him return to something similar to the first Doctor? Now, McGann had a cravat in the 1996 movie and it was a look he managed to pull off surprisingly well. However at the same time it's still a little weird to imagine McGann running about the modern or future days in such dress. Capaldi in period dress however - I could see that fitting in during any time period. Perhaps Capaldi could help see the cravat come back into fashion next - after all Smith helped to bring back bow ties.
