Doctor Who: 10 Predictions For The 10th Anniversary Of NuWho

By Baz Greenland /

1. Steven Moffat's Swansong - Christmas 2015

This is certainly not intended as a chorus of the Moffat-bashing brigade - far from it, in fact. This is more about the inevitability of Moffat moving on. As with the companions and the Doctor himself, Doctor Who is not any one person's show. Like Russell T Davies, Moffat has certainly made Doctor Who his own and after six years it's probably time for a new vision for the show, complete with a brilliant Doctor in the Twelfth to bridge that transition. Running Doctor Who and Sherlock must be an all consuming job so at some point Moffat will have to finish one of those roles. Having seen through the 50th celebrations and the 10th anniversary of Nu Who, this would be the perfect chance for Moffat to leave the show on a high. For all the grumbling by some fans - and remember Russell T Davies had his share of haters, too - Moffat has achieved his vision of Doctor Who by delivering audiences two amazing Doctors and some truly thrilling episodes along the way. As to who would replace Moffat, there currently isn't quite as clear a stand out contender as when Russell eft. Be it Toby Whitehouse, Mark Gatiss or someone entirely new, they would have some massive shoes to fill. What are you hoping to see in the 10th anniversary of Nu Who?
