10. Matt Smith€™s Doctor Is Believable As A 900-Year-Old Man In A Young Man€™s Body

If I was to sum how Matt Smith€™s portrayal of the Doctor it would be old man in a young man€™s body. Of course, that€™s something you could say for every doctor since Patrick Troughton. But while every doctor has been getting gradually younger in appearance the older they get, for me it€™s the Eleventh Doctor€™s portrayal that best nails that depth of age and wisdom that comes several centuries of experience. It€™s all in the eyes. There€™s a depth to his expression that make you believe he has been travelling around space and time for a very long time. By the time he prepares for his impending death in Closing Time it feels like the Doctor is coming to the end of a very, very long journey, not just the two years we have seen Smith in this role. I watch him and can believe that he€™s nine hundred (or eleven hundred) years old. Which brings me on to my next point€
