Go back and find a movie that was originally broadcast in 3D. Go ahead, we can wait. Now, count the moments that something came right at the screen. How did you react? Did you giggle? Roll your eyes? Groan at how hackneyed it was? We dont blame you, this has been done with 3D for ages, and the cliché shows no signs of stopping. Look, we spend a lot of time rolling our eyes at past episodes of Doctor Who to begin with, even with fairly recent episodes. A great Ninth Doctor story gets punctuated by farting aliens. The Seventh Doctor tries to take on a lame Margaret Thatcher pastiche. Heck, the computer generated moving Angels from Matt Smiths first season look cheap as well, and that was only three years ago. This event is going to be one for not only DW history books, but for television on the whole. Lets not commemorate it with something were going to look back on with regret.
