Doctor Who: 10 Reasons Why 3D Is The Wrong Idea

6. It€™s Not What We€™re Here To See

Whovians aren€™t asking much for the 50th anniversary. We want to see our favorite Doctors return, maybe a companion or two, and a good plot to unite them all. This announcement reeks of misplaced priorities, or at the very least some meddling executives. David Tennant and Billie Piper coming back? Yes, it is wonderful, but let€™s not pretend it was a miracle or even a surprise. David has been telling anyone who would listen that he would be all for returning to the show while Billie played a ridiculously popular companion who happens to have great chemistry and a history (on and off-screen) with the current Doctor. It was a no brainer that doesn€™t make the one-two punch of Doctors Christopher Eccleston and Sylvester McCoy declining to return. Plot-wise, it€™s the return of the one-time villains from the €˜70s- the Zygons. For those who haven€™t seen a Tom Baker episode (shame on you), these guys look like giant disembodied tentacles and they can shape shift. Is that seriously how we€™re going to see the past cast members? Shape shifting? That€™s€both clever and a cop out (in traditional Impossible Astronaut style, we all knew it was River under there) which should raise a few red flags for fans
