10. He Strangled Peri

One of the most infamous moments in Doctor Who history has to be when the newly regenerated Sixth Doctor tried to strangle his companion Peri. Not all there in the head due to the fact he had just regenerated, he suspected Peri of being an evil spirit and tried to strangle her to death.

While it is true he had only just regenerated and quickly realised what he'd done, the fact still stands that he almost killed a companion in a moment of frenzy. Had he not come to his senses in time, the Sixth Doctor’s first adventure would’ve been a whole lot darker in tone.
