Doctor Who: 5 Worst And 5 Best Dalek Stories

2. €œDestiny of the Daleks€

Well, first off, we have Romana regenerating because reasons. We see her €œtrying on€ a number of bodies before settling on one that looks suspiciously like a woman the Doctor and her had met previously. Beyond that, the Movellans, which almost work, and which I would very much like to see return in the new series, because I think they could do a great job with them. To make matters worse, this story sets the stage for a recurring trope in the old series, which is that you can no longer have a Dalek story without having Davros. One might think this is a problem given that Davros died off several stories earlier and, in fact, seems to die at the end of every other one he€™s in. One would be mistaken. And speaking of Davros, the original actor, Michael Wisher, was unavailable for filming, and the (frankly superior) Terry Molly hadn€™t come along yet. So they had another guy named David Gooderson. He€™s not bad in the role, but they clearly didn€™t want to bother to make a new mask for him, so he just looks€odd.
