Love it or hate it, the multiverse concept is big at the minute, and what if Who goes down that route too? Could this maybe not even be our Doctor Donna?

Doctor Who is no stranger to the multiverse concept, with recent exploits touching on it with the Flux event as well as significantly during the RTD era the introduction of 'Pete's World'. Davies even teased parallel worlds as being an explanation for this reunion.

So what if we are meeting alternate universe versions of the Doctor? This is something onscreen Who has not actually touched upon before, but like we're currently seeing in comic book content, there could be an infinite number of Doctor's out there.

Maybe it would be a cliche, given the cinematic focus on multiverses at the minute, but maybe Who could pull it off and make a compelling story. However, if this was the case, it could feel like a hollow return, given we would have no connection to this alternate Doctor and Donna.
