19. Ascension Of The Cybermen

Ascension of the Cybermen is a penultimate episode that promises something much more interesting than the finale we actually got, with the Cybermen being resigned to the B-plot during The Timeless Children.

The episode is a frenetic and desperate action movie, which sees the Cybermen as a legitimate threat, but doesn’t do a whole lot else. In terms of character work, Ashad carries the entire plot on his back, and we’re still gutted even now that this villain was so wasted.
